It depends on how many instruments need to be recorded etc. but if the artist and musicians are well prepared it should take 4 - 8 hours.
- How long does mixing take?
Most of the time your song will be mixed 1 - 2 weeks after recording is completed, ready for you to preview. EPs and albums will take a little longer.
- What is mastering?
Mastering is the final stage to the music production process. The completed mix is sent to a mastering engineer who optimises the track dynamically and sonically, making it sound like a finished product. This takes about a week.
